Windows
There are several ways to take a screenshot on a Windows computer:
Full screen:
Press PrtScn (Print Screen)
The screenshot copies to your clipboard
Paste it into an app like Paint or Word using Ctrl + V
Active window only:
Press Alt + PrtScn
Paste the screenshot where needed
Select a specific area:
Press Windows key + Shift + S (Usually Snipping Tool)
Click and drag to select the area you want
The image copies to your clipboard
Automatically save screenshot:
Press Windows key + PrtScn
The screenshot saves to your Pictures > Screenshots folder
Mac
Mac devices have built-in screenshot shortcuts:
Full screen:
Press Shift + Command + 3
Select a portion of the screen:
Press Shift + Command + 4
Click and drag to capture the area
Screenshot menu (more options):
Press Shift + Command + 5
Choose to capture the screen, window, or record video
Screenshots are saved to your desktop by default.
iPhone (iOS)
The method depends on whether your iPhone has a Home button:
Without Home button (Face ID models):
Press the Side button + Volume Up at the same time
With Home button:
Press the Home button + Side (or Top) button
Screenshots will appear in your Photos app.
iPad
Steps are similar to iPhone:
Without Home button:
Press the Top button + Volume Up
With Home button:
Press the Home button + Top button
Screenshots are saved in the Photos app.
Android
Screenshot methods can vary slightly by manufacturer, but these are the most common:
Standard method:
Press the Power button + Volume Down at the same time
Alternative methods (on some devices):
Swipe down and tap Screenshot from the quick settings menu
Use gesture controls (varies by brand)
Screenshots are typically saved in your Photos or Gallery app.
